Bad Girl, Good Business

The Grateful 40

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Why?

Because, quite frankly, 2020 has been full of things way beyond our control (a true understatement).

Dwelling on the things that didn’t happen or our daily challenges can send us down a dark, exhausting, and depressing spiral.

So, I chose to channel the energy that I otherwise would have put into kvetching into ruminating on those things and people that made a positive difference in my life and the world in 2020.

Why 40?

Well, for starters, it’s 20+20. It’s also a large enough number that I’ll have to dig a little deep to complete the list.

Plus, I’ll have enough online content to fill all of November and a third of December, while doing something good for others rather than posting pix of myself eating, exercising, and doing errands.

20 minutes every day publishing the list will compel me to think about the humans and businesses that made the planet a better place this year.

I have embraced the listicle as a literary form. Two of my books are simply long listicles and I have even composed a list of 100 things that make me happy, which I refer to whenever the dark clouds roll into my head.

Gratitude is Good for Your Health

I still believe in science, and experts confirm these seven ways that giving thanks can improve our physical and mental well-being.

You’re welcome to join me in the “Grateful 40” at any time. Think about your own list — whether it consists of four or 400 gratitudes.

But, for now, watch this space to learn more about the 40 people and businesses that made a difference in my life (and the lives of others) in 2020.

Stay Strong…Stay Healthy…Stay Grateful (Times 40)
