Showing Skin: The Naked Truth About Summer Fashion

I was at the LIFETIME pool this past weekend and saw many exposed buttocks.

Thongs are obviously on-trend these days.

I also spotted a woman who was wearing a burkini. The “modest swimwear” market is estimated at close to $3B.

So, while some women are stripping down, others are covering their body parts.

It’s a fascinating contrast. And, of course, it got me thinking about how we went from splashing and swimming naked (literally) to where we are in 2026.
