The 100 Years Club Installment #104: The Gift of Time
Reading Time: 3 minutesThis month, I’m posting eight videos about gifting.
Because I’m pretty slow-mo at video recording and editing, I outsourced the shoot to a local videographer. I also hired a fantastic, talented podcast producer, who is starting his own business and goes easy on my wallet because I’m helping him get his business off the ground.
Although I invested a few precious marketing dollars, the quality and (equally important) the SPEED that comes from delegating to pros is worth it because it can free up time to spend on other (revenue-generating) activities.
Every year, I review my Quickbooks and reflect on what saves me time and makes me money. I balance income, passion projects, and future growth. (And, of course, self-care and living expenses, which include travel to visit family and friends!)

But back to the topic of TIME!
Although time is finite, you can hack your life to make more of it by focusing on those things that really matter.
If you find yourself in a constant state of stress and overwork/overlife:
- Track how you spend your time currently and be brutal in eliminating activities that don’t bring you income, joy, or intelligence. You can use a paper-based system or use a time-tracking app.
- Time-block so that you’re better managing your day-to-day activities. Here’s how.
- Exit gracefully. Are you at a business or social event that is simply not your jam? Stuck talking to a bloviator at a trade show and know that you need to move on? Leave it to Southern Living for offering up polite tips for saying buh-bye.
- Take time for the really important things! As I age, I realize that life is finite and procrastination and excuses don’t pay off in the long run. Value every second of every day — especially around the holiday season!
Thank you for taking a few minutes to read this post!
I trust it was time well spent!
