The 100 Years Club Installment #158: Make it Stop! 5 Things We Should Cancel in 2026

Reading Time: 4 minutes

Cancel culture can be toxic. But some things deserve to be cancelled. And others need to flourish.

So this is my official F*CK NO! & F*CK YEAH! List for 2026.

F*CK NO!

Let’s put an end to:

  1. Bullying, misogyny & ageism (across all generations). You can’t control everything. But examining your own biases, responses, and behaviors is within your realm!
  2. Inhuman & Lazy AI. What does that mean? Studies are starting to reveal that different types of professionals are using agents either as crutches or as valuable tools. We have too many lazy AI users (who choose not to think but simply use it as a brain and a creator). As a result, many people are shunning its use as a valuable innovation. Imagine if Michelangelo had only finger paints and was then given paintbrushes, which gave him virtually unlimited and precise talents.  AI can be a catalyst and an inspiration… not just a worker bee.
  3. Rage baiting. Why do you want to stir the pot with random strangers who have too much time on their hands? The reality is that social media influencers make, on average, $50K annually, with many making as little as $15K. I realize that life is about more than income, but you’d make a lot more as a plumber, and people would be happy to see you! I’m also dismayed by the OnlyFans girls and concepts like Bop House. Prostitution is one of the oldest professions, and sex sells, as we know. But when women make more by f*cking 1000 men than they do developing new technologies or teaching school, we have a little problem, yes?
  4. Mean girls. I seem to live in the epicenter of drama, posing, and gossip. I’m committing to “rising above” and setting an example of kindness, collaboration, and inclusion. This book is, sadly, still relevant, even though I wrote it in 2010.
  5. Procrastination and whining without action. My younger daughter can sometimes be my favorite life and business mentor. When she says, “I don’t want to hear you complain!” I don’t take it personally. I simply adjust my actions and life view. (And, I sometimes use Beulah, my AI agent, to review and edit the tone of my writing to ensure I’m not overly pessimistic.)

Speaking of which…

Here’s the F*CK YEAH! List, which is the one I’ll focus on.

My 2026 will be focused on what I call BODIES & BOTS, the integration of humanity and technology (especially AI and robotics) to make us all better, wiser, and more efficient people. To that end, I used AI to generate visuals for each of my F*CK YEAH! Principles. See #2, above. I was not lazy. In fact, I had to rewrite my prompts a couple of times. I notice that AI is getting better at incorporating women as heroes! Let’s keep educating those agents, ladies!

  1. Legacy. Not to be morbid, but think about what you want people to think and say about you after you leave this earth. Who have you helped throughout your life? What skills and perspectives have you passed on to others? How do you want to be remembered? Use those answers as you craft your roadmap for 2026 and beyond.
  2. Curiosity & Depth. “Are we living in the golden age of stupidity?” is a question explored in this provocative article. Each of us can choose how ignorant we want to be. You can also choose who you hire, who your friends are, and what you feed your brain.
  3. Progressive Innovation. No, that’s not a tagline for a manufacturing company. It’s my life and work philosophy. Unlike transformation, which implies you’re turning into something else, PI means looking at where you came from and what you did in the past, and making bold changes based on where you need to go. Just because something is new doesn’t mean it’s better. Make progress, not just new stuff for the sake of hype.
  4. Big Thinking and MGs (Micro-Goals). This flows directly from the first three. Once you know what you want to leave behind and how you want to evolve, set and articulate clear and meaningful goals, and then “chunk them down” into baby steps. I’m dedicating my first group podcast of 2026 to those MGs.
  5. Grace, Humility, Kindness & Human Connection. I saved the most important one for last. We’re living in mean-spirited and judgmental times. But YOU decide every day how to treat, talk about, and speak to people… from the check-out person at the grocery store to the humans in your friend circle, workplace, and community. Don’t tolerate bad behavior, but give feedback in an honest, caring way with a clear sense of what you want the outcome to be. I love this timeless book, which is worth multiple reads or listens. Be prepared to walk away from truly toxic influences in your life and solicit and listen to feedback about your own behaviors.

What’s on YOUR cancel-and-keep lists for 2026?
