The 100 Years Club Installment #114: 7 Fun Facts About Love

We know it all too well.
We’re living in a world filled with hate and destruction.
As a realist. I must accept that.
As a romantic, I believe in the power of love. (Whoever thought I would quote Huey Lewis & The News in a 2025 blog post?)
As a pragmatist and consummate data geek, I often look for trends and statistics to give my readers hope, joy, and perhaps even humor.
I love facts and fact-checking (which may put me in the minority today)!
One of the F’s in NANCYAF is Factual!
When the world looks especially ugly, I often make lists, put things into a neat and tidy box, and tie it up with a red ribbon (as my older brother has told me). It gives me a sense of control and inspires/educates others.
Because February is the month of love (as all months should be), here goes:
- 94% of women and 88% of men believe in true love. (That doesn’t necessarily mean it exists, but I love that many of us are still hopeful!)
- Love has an impact on brain chemistry, according to scientific research.
- The dating service market is expected to reach 698.8 million users by 2028. So, we are clearly looking for love in some of the wrong places.
- About half of all people love their jobs.
- According to an AI Google search (which I sometimes love), things people are most excited about in 2025 are advanced transportation, wellness, sustainable fashion, immersive entertainment, and updates on space exploration.
- Hummus, French fries, and pizza are among the foods we love. I found the list on Reader’s Digest’s site. I love their tagline, “A trusted friend in a complicated world.” (I also love that the RD brand has been around for nearly 100 years!)
- Speaking of timeless things, nostalgia in marketing is making a comeback. (We love old things
because they give us a sense of comfort.) I am not super-passionate about the term “nowstalgia” however.
Above all, we need to learn to love ourselves in order to love others and to enjoy life.
I use a technique to help me remain positive and (dare I say) passionate about life and work. Watch it here!
